Privacy Policy
1. Scope
This policy applies to the Wi-Fi Analyzer Android application (package dev.bluefuture.x.wifi.analyzer) published on Google Play by BlueFuture, and to the companion website at the domain where this page is hosted.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Wi-Fi Analyzer does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no cloud sync. All data the app generates—RSSI samples, scan results, roaming events, and survey points—is stored exclusively on your device using the Android Room database.
3. On-Device Data
The following data is created and stored locally on your device only:
- RSSI timeline samples (signal strength readings with timestamps)
- Wi-Fi scan results (nearby AP names, BSSIDs, signal levels, channels)
- Roaming events (BSSID changes with timestamps)
- Survey points (user-labeled location notes with RSSI and optional text)
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export and share it using the in-app export feature. You can clear all stored data at any time from Settings → Data management.
4. Android Permissions
The app requests the following permissions, each of which is used solely for on-device analysis:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE |
Read current Wi-Fi connection info (SSID, BSSID, RSSI, channel, link speed) |
CHANGE_WIFI_STATE |
Initiate Wi-Fi scans to discover nearby access points |
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATIONACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION |
Required by Android (below Android 13) to read Wi-Fi scan results and SSIDs |
NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES |
Android 13+ replacement for location permission when scanning Wi-Fi networks |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS |
Display the low-priority notification for background RSSI sampling |
FOREGROUND_SERVICEFOREGROUND_SERVICE_CONNECTED_DEVICE |
Run the background RSSI sampling service with a visible notification |
Location permission is used only to satisfy the Android system requirement for Wi-Fi scanning. We do not record, transmit, or process your geographic location in any way.
5. Third-party services and SDKs
The App may include the following categories of third-party components:
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Used to display advertisements. Google may collect device and usage data as described in Google’s policies. Where required, the App requests consent through Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) before initializing ads in applicable regions.
- Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics). Used for aggregated usage analytics and crash reporting to improve stability. Data is processed according to Google’s Firebase terms and privacy documentation.
The companion marketing website is hosted on Firebase Hosting and publishes ads.txt / app-ads.txt for AdMob domain verification. The static pages do not embed ad beacons themselves.
6. Firebase Hosting & Google Play
The app is distributed through Google Play, which may collect standard device and usage statistics according to Google's Privacy Policy. The companion website is hosted on Firebase Hosting. Firebase Hosting may log standard web server access logs (IP address, browser, referring URL) as described in Firebase's Privacy Policy. These logs are not linked to your app usage.
7. Export Feature
When you use the "Export text report" or "Export CSV" feature, the app generates a file from your locally stored data and presents the Android system share sheet. You choose where to send it. We have no visibility into what you share or where it goes.
8. Home Screen Widget
The home screen widget reads the current Wi-Fi RSSI and channel from the Android system and displays it on your device. No data is transmitted externally.
9. Children's Privacy
Wi-Fi Analyzer is a technical utility tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
10. Data Retention & Deletion
All data remains on your device. You can delete individual records by swiping them away in the app, or clear all records at once from Settings → Data management. Uninstalling the app removes all associated data from your device.
11. International Users
The app operates entirely on-device. No personal data is transferred across borders because no personal data is transmitted to external servers by the app itself.
12. Security
Because all data stays on your device and is not transmitted to external servers, the security of your data depends primarily on your device's security settings (screen lock, encryption). We encourage you to keep your Android OS up to date.
13. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
